“What if being lit up isn’t just about guidance—but about exposure? Not to shame you—but to heal you?”
In the military, we used a method called magnetic particle inspection. We’d pass a current through a part to magnetize it—so that even the tiniest fractures, normally hidden from the eye, could be drawn out and seen. It wasn’t destructive. It was precise. Gentle. Revealing. And it showed us exactly where restoration was needed.
Once the part was charged (I used to say “Light it up!” every time I pushed current through the part),
what was buried began to respond—drawn to the surface by something unseen but powerful.
But we didn’t do it to break the part.
We did it to know where it needed to be restored.

I’ve started to wonder…
What if the Spirit of God does the same thing?
Not with force. But with presence.
What if He quietly draws out the pain we’ve buried, the motives we’ve masked, the wounds we’ve learned to live with?
John 3:16–21 (NASB 2020)
“But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God.”
Coming to the Light is intentional—not accidental.
When the Spirit Draws It Out
And when you do, it’s not about spotlighting your success… it’s about Spirit-led transparency.
A life that says, “God’s doing something in me, and I’m not afraid for you to see it.”
But let’s be honest—some of us avoid the light.
Not because we hate it, but because we’re afraid of what it might expose.
Living in the Shadows
On the outside, everything looks fine.
You say the right things. You even post Bible verses or pray over your day.
But deep down?
Something’s off.
You stay busy—not because you’re fulfilled, but because stillness feels dangerous.
You trust God with your plans, but not your pain.
You read Scripture—but never let it read you.
You believe, but you’re not really connected.
It’s like trying to light a room with a bulb that’s unplugged—no connection, no current, no inner response.
Until you’re connected to the Source, the healing doesn’t begin.
Paul Got Lit Up
In Acts 9, Paul didn’t drift gently into belief—he was lit up.
Knocked to the ground. Blinded. Confronted by Jesus Himself.
It wasn’t just a moment of belief—it was a moment of exposure.
The cracks in his theology.
The pride in his mission.
The darkness hiding behind religious confidence.
What if the Light has come to draw out what you didn’t even know was broken?
Not just on the surface—but buried deep within?
You Were Lit Up, to Light Up the World
Following Jesus isn’t just a safe harbor—it’s a purposeful illumination.
And here’s the truth: it’s not even just about you.
“You are the light of the world… let your light shine before people…” — Matthew 5:14–16
You were lit up so that someone else would find their way home.
What It Looks Like to Be Lit Up
- You break in prayer—and realize what you’ve hidden is what Jesus wants to heal.
- You confess the sin you swore you’d bury—and feel light for the first time in years.
- You pause long enough for the Spirit to move—and you’re not numb anymore.
- You stop performing, and finally start healing.
From Revelation to Invitation
If we stay quiet, the cracks stay hidden.
The healing doesn’t happen.
The light doesn’t spread.
So who’s watching your life?
Who needs to see the Light through you?
Practical Steps to Light the Way
Confess
Take a moment to ask God: What have I been hiding?
Not because He doesn’t already know—but because healing starts when you acknowledge it.
The things you’ve buried—the resentment, he secret struggles, the unspoken wounds—can’t heal in the dark.Let the Spirit shine light on them, not to shame you, but to begin the work of restoration.
God reveals to redeem. Don’t fear the exposure—embrace the healing.
“Healing starts where light hits the cracks.”
Invite
Who in your life is living in the dark and doesn’t even know it?
Who’s hungry for hope but hesitant to ask for it?
Your simple text, your quiet invitation, will be the spark that leads someone into the light.
This isn’t about having all the answers or fixing someone’s life—it’s about opening a door.
Start with Easter. Start with coffee. Start with presence.
“Your invite may be the beam that cuts through someone else’s dark.”
Encourage
This week, be intentional with your words.
Speak life over someone who’s running on empty.
Remind a friend that they’re not too far gone.
Affirm the person who thinks no one sees them.
You don’t need a mic, a pulpit, or a platform.
You just need to show up, carry the light, and speak truth.
Sometimes, your presence is the sermon.
“You don’t need a platform to shine—just presence.”
Practice the Truth
Don’t just believe—live it.
Let your faith lead your actions. Let your walk reflect your words.
Light isn’t passive. It pushes back the darkness every time it’s allowed to shine.
Make space in your day to listen for God’s voice.
Slow down. Be still. Let the current of the Spirit move through you again.
The more you practice walking in the light, the more natural it becomes to carry it.
“The lit life isn’t a feeling—it’s a daily choice.”
Final Word: You Were Lit Up for a Reason
You weren’t lit up to stay hidden.
You weren’t lit up to stay safe.
You were lit up so that healing could begin in you—and so hope could shine through you.
This world doesn’t just need inspiration.
It needs light.
Let Jesus be seen—through your honesty, your humility, your healing, your life.
